Senior Manager, Accounting

Vituity is seeking a Senior Manager, Accounting to join their team. This role is remote and nationwide. The Senior Manager, Accounting will be responsible for creating development plans for staff, providing technical direction, improving quality and efficiency, and mentoring staff accountants. They will also ensure accounting is done in accordance with GAAP, oversee AP/AR operations, generate financial statements, establish internal controls, prepare cash basis financials for tax purposes, coordinate annual audits, and ensure fiscal deadlines are met. The role involves managing the monthly closing process, accurate transaction recording, building financial reports, working with Treasury on inter-company transactions, communicating with leadership, and providing financial analysis. Additionally, the position will assist with NetSuite bank reconciliations, support EPBCS implementation, and identify areas for efficiency improvements. Collaboration with IT and other department managers is expected to ensure smooth operations and project execution. Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher required.
- Experience with a large ERP and financial reporting tools preferred.
- Experience with NetSuite, ADP, Coupa and Concur preferred.
Responsibilities
- Create a development plan for each staff member; provide technical direction and support within the accounting department, work with the managers and employees to improve quality and efficiency; participate in the development of objectives and management of staff; provide mentorship to staff accountants for business and accounting practices.
- Assure that all accounting is done in accordance with GAAP including evaluation of stipend and patient accounts receivable, evaluation of payroll and other liabilities, and maintenance of ownership equity.
- Oversee the daily operation and function of AP and AR team.
- Generate GAAP basis entity financial statements and departmental and site related income statements and balance sheets.
- Establish and monitor internal control of assets, including developing and writing accounting policies and procedures; prepare cash basis financials for all medical groups for tax purposes; work with the Assistant Controller/Controller to prepare annual GAAP basis financial statements; coordinate the annual audit for all entities; ensure that various fiscal deadlines are met and appropriate data are provided; administer the development and implementation of procedures to gather the necessary data that will ensure sound and effective financial information and planning for the organization.
- Ensure that the monthly closing process is completed in a timely fashion; ensure all transactions are accurately recorded; build and update financial reports when needed; work closely with Treasury on the inter-company transactions; communicate with physician leadership, financial analysts, and managers regarding accounting reports and functions to ensure understanding of provided information; provide timely and meaningful financial analysis.
- Assist in the Netsuite bank reconciliation process; support EPBCS implementation; identify any area to improve efficiency and reduce bank fees.
- Provide technical direction and support to the Work with IT and other department managers to ensure that all inter-departmental projects and operations are smoothly run; help staff to achieve their goals and objectives; provide necessary leadership and management skills to assigned finance functions, help create finance related service level agreements with variance MedAmerica department.
