About The Position

We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Accounting Policy in Denver, CO ( USA) Opening Date: 12/05/2026 End Date: 29/05/2026 Reporting to the VP, Accounting Policy, this role provides technical accounting and accounting policy oversight with respect to Liberty Global. Have active oversight and assistance with local country operations as well as addressing corporate matters and technical financial reporting matters. The role incorporates responsibility over accounting policy assessments on M&A opportunities and integrations and global accounting policy adoption for new rules and standards. This role will provide technical accounting expertise and knowledge with respect to SEC and US GAAP rules, as well as IFRS. Overall, the role is responsible for establishing and maintaining Liberty Global accounting policies and maintaining oversight over the adoption and compliance with those policies. In addition, the position will provide flexibility to assist the financial reporting and consolidations teams with special projects and back-filling of roles for extended absences. This is a highly demanding role requiring adherence to deadlines, high quality standards and attention to detail, and effective interaction with finance management and foreign reporting entities.

Requirements

  • Master or Bachelor of Accounting or other relevant field
  • CPA or equivalent
  • Approximately 9 to 15 years of experience working in accounting field in a dynamic multinational environment.
  • Prefer experienced senior manager at a large public accounting firm or equivalent level of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS accounting principles
  • Experience with resolving complex accounting issues and transactions.
  • Very strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to clearly articulate complex issues to senior management and, at the same time, have productive accounting discussions with non-accountants.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop rapport with diverse range of people from various disciplines within the business.
  • Courteous with a collaborative and flexible working style.
  • Attentive to detail to ensure high degree of accuracy.
  • Able to manage changing priorities, others’ expectations and workload under deadline pressures that may involve additional hours during quarter end

Responsibilities

  • Timely communication of key issues and decisions with the Liberty Global Accounting Policy team including formal updates through the Liberty Global Accounting Issues Meetings.
  • Research technical accounting issues and communicate (orally via discussions and written via position papers) the resolution from such research
  • Be an effective financial business partner and leading the resolution of accounting issues in relation to budget process, business cases, sourcing events, contractual reviews and other projects on a timely basis.
  • Leadership role in US GAAP and IFRS conversion and issue identification with material mergers and acquisitions, and assessment of ongoing needs for new acquisitions, both during the due diligence phase and the integration phase. The work will include due diligence support, acquisition accounting, pro formas, and accounting policy alignment.
  • Review of accounting issues papers prepared by European subsidiaries.
  • Monitor new accounting developments from the FASB and IASB, and draft comment letters over new accounting rules and standards, when desirable.
  • Coordinate and lead the global adoption over new accounting rules and standards.
  • Attend various meetings identifying potential accounting issues and discuss accounting implications of planned or executed transactions.
  • Lead the US GAAP review of high-risk areas and identify potential accounting issues and following up on resolution of such issues, including further escalation to the rest of the Liberty Global Accounting Policy team.
  • Deal with ad hoc requests and carry out other reasonable duties as requested.
  • Represent the company in a professional and presentable manner at all times.
  • Review of SEC and other US GAAP financial statements and other external disclosures (e.g. earnings releases) required by Liberty Global.
  • Assist with review of corporate accounting issues with the external auditors, and ensure that all accounting issues addressed with the auditors are appropriately resolved with assistance from the Liberty Global Accounting Policy team.
  • Provide US GAAP training seminars for Liberty Global to audiences ranging from 20 to 200 people, including the review and/or preparation of training materials.
  • Ownership of maintaining the Liberty Global Accounting Manual.
  • Preparation of the SOX controls that support this process.
  • Flexibility to assist with special projects and back-fill roles in consolidations and financial reporting teams, as requested.
