We are seeking a highly skilled Reverse Engineering & Malware Analysis Engineer to support critical defense and intelligence customer missions. The role involves deep static and dynamic analysis of malicious binaries, assembly-code dissection, and analysis of complex Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs). The analyst translates adversary intelligence into actionable detection signatures, identifies operational risks, and develops concrete mitigation strategies across computer networks. An active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required. The annual base salary range is $180,000–$213,000 USD, excluding discretionary bonus compensation and benefits. The offered compensation may vary based on factors including geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level.

Requirements

  • Active security clearance at the TS/SCI polygraph level.
  • Expert proficiency in static and dynamic analysis of malicious binaries, reverse engineering, and assembly-code analysis (x86, x64, ARM, etc.).
  • In-depth knowledge of APT campaigns and IOC identification, extraction, and threat characterization.
  • Hands-on experience developing malware detection mechanisms and authoring custom YARA and SNORT signatures.
  • Ability to assess complex system and network environments, identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Deep understanding of computer networking fundamentals, network protocols, and reverse engineering TTPs.
  • One of the following education and experience combinations: a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cyber Security, or a related technical discipline plus 7 or more years of professional experience in reverse engineering, malware analysis, or vulnerability research; a master’s degree in a related field plus 5 or more years of specialized technical experience; or a high school diploma/GED plus 11 or more years of relevant hands-on experience in reverse engineering and low-level code analysis in lieu of a degree.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, C/C++, or Go for developing custom analysis scripts, extractors, and automated triage workflows.
  • Experience setting up and customizing isolated analysis environments and dynamic execution sandboxes, and analyzing their telemetry.
  • Advanced certifications such as GREM (GIAC Reverse Engineering Malware), GCIH, CEH, or CISSP.

Responsibilities

  • Perform static and dynamic analysis of malicious binaries and reverse engineer them.
  • Read and dissect assembly code, including x86, x64, and ARM.
  • Analyze APT campaigns and identify, extract, and characterize indicators of compromise (IOCs).
  • Develop malware detection mechanisms and author custom YARA and SNORT signatures.
  • Assess system and network environments for risk and develop actionable mitigation strategies.
  • Apply knowledge of networking fundamentals, network protocols, and reverse engineering TTPs.
