About The Position

The Target Range for the position is $23.60 - $25.96 per hour. The final salary offer will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and experience. This role involves conducting inspections of facilities, ensuring compliance with safety standards and building codes, leading maintenance projects, coordinating tasks among maintenance staff, entering buildings, checking out tools and equipment, operating state vehicles, and communicating with other departments. The position requires performing physically demanding tasks, including moderate lifting, and may involve exposure to dust, grease, noise, inclement weather, and temperature extremes. This job description provides an overview and may include additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Four years experience in trade.
• Applicable license or ability to obtain one in the first year of employment.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License and insurability under TSTC Liability Policy.
• Must present acceptable and original documents to prove identity and authorization to work in the United States no later than the third day of employment.
• A criminal history background check will be required for the finalist(s) under consideration for this position.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of facilities to identify and address maintenance needs.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes.
• Lead maintenance projects and coordinate tasks among maintenance staff.
• Enter occupied and unoccupied buildings with appropriate accompaniment.
• Check out tools, equipment, and supplies as needed.
• Operate state vehicles and equipment safely.
• Coordinate with other departments to address facility needs while providing regular updates to their supervisor.
• Perform physically demanding tasks requiring strength and frequent moderate lifting (30-60 lbs), often in awkward positions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
