About The Position

The City of Edinburg is seeking a dedicated Senior Maintenance Worker to perform maintenance and repair of Street Signs and Pavement Markings. This role is essential to the city's infrastructure and involves tasks such as the removal and replacement of signs, cleaning and repair of pavement markings, and setting up traffic hardware for signal repairs and detours. The position also includes assisting with roadway and curb stripping, providing support to other department divisions, and setting up traffic control for special events, emergencies, and weather response.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED or equivalency
No experience required.
Must have a current valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Excellent knowledge of street signs and pavement markings.
Proficient in power tools.
Dependability is a strength.

Nice To Haves

Community college, vocational, business, technical, or correspondence school certifications.
Related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
One (1) year of experience performing tasks closely related to job description.
Bilingual English/Spanish.
Enjoys working as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance and repair of Street Signs and Pavement Markings.
Perform removal and replacements of signs as needed throughout the city.
Assist in cleaning and repair of pavement markings throughout the city.
Perform set up of traffic hardware for signal repairs, detours, and other traffic related repairs.
Assist with stripping of roadways and curbs.
Provide assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed.
Assist in the setup of traffic control for special events, emergencies and weather response.
