About The Position

Givens Aldersgate is looking for a Senior Maintenance Technician to support our facilities team. We're looking for someone to be self-motivated, have an exemplary work ethic, an eagerness to learn, good communication skills, and be willing to work in extreme weather conditions. This position has responsibility for the maintenance, upkeep and repair of the electrical and mechanical systems, appliances, buildings, and grounds, and is a key member of our maintenance team. The schedule for this position will be 9am to 4pm, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver's License
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift 100lbs to a minimum height of 3ft and carry a minimum distance of 10ft with/without a mechanical device.
  • Must have, as a minimum, five years previous experience in maintenance worker capacity
  • Knowledge of pertinent laws pertaining to EPA and OSHA regulations
  • Basic knowledge of and complete repairs for electricity, electrical appliances, plumbing, refrigeration systems, plastering, HVAC, painting, drywall repair, and carpentry

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Commercial Kitchen equipment and refrigeration preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide general maintenance services and repairs all facility property
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, appliance, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand and power tools
  • Inspect and test electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify defects, hazards, and the need for adjustment or repair
  • Respond to maintenance requests and resolving maintenance issues in a timely manner
  • Participate in on-call coverage for evening, weekend and holiday
  • Perform routine maintenance as needed
  • Demonstrate the ability to cooperate and work as a team member to ensure the quality of facility services
  • Maintain records of all monthly, quarterly, and annual preventive maintenance for the property in order to meet regulatory agent inspection and company expectations.
  • Assist in maintaining supplies and keeping storerooms clean and organized
  • Participate in department team by attending meetings, providing input, active participation and support of other department teams on campus
  • Perform other duties and/or tasks as assigned
