Requirements

  • Associate’s degree and 6 months of Maintenance experience OR High school diploma / GED and 2 years of Maintenance experience

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience working with a variety of equipment including multiple types of pumps and valves, diesel generators, air handling units, water filtration systems etc.
  • Hands-on experience working with industrial refrigeration systems, cold rooms, freezers and refrigeration standalone units.
  • EPA 608/Universal certified technician.
  • Active member of CTRAPR for refrigerant technician in Puerto Rico
  • Experience working and/or knowledge in how to work with LNG systems.
  • Experience working and/or knowledge in how to work with Cogeneration systems.
  • Preferable turbine driven systems.
  • Experience working with predictive maintenance, vibration analysis, ultrasound survey, infrared survey & laser alignment.
  • Available to work in Wastewater Treatment Plant.
  • Knowledge and experience working in a GMP regulated facility.
  • Experience executing and documenting maintenance work in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Ability to interpret P&ID's, identify hazards, isolation points and inter-dependencies between services for LOTO purposes.
  • Ability to work with minimum direction, identify issues and effectively communicate the status of equipment or tasks in a timely manner.
  • Available to support nonstandard shift and support on atmospheric events.
  • Be willing to develop your technician skills according to department needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex maintenance activities, ensure equipment reliability, and mentor peers to support safe and efficient manufacturing operations.
  • Perform maintenance and/or reparation of systems including: Steam Boilers, Cooling Towers, Chillers, Air Compressors, Air Dryers, Water Treatments Systems.
  • Operate, inspect, and maintain all equipment and systems without supervision, including advanced testing and repairs.
  • Monitor machinery performance, identify issues, and perform real-time visual inspections and troubleshooting per SOPs & job plan.
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to detect trends, perform root cause analysis (e.g., five why’s), and resolve issues effectively.
  • Consult technical manuals, system data, and collaborate with cross-functional experts (e.g., F&E, Safety and Quality) or vendors to ensure safe and proper problem resolution.
  • Bring up issues as needed and document recurring solutions to support continuous improvement.
  • Remain current with SOPs, cGMPs, ALCOA+ principles, and industry standards; follow all protocols for safety and documentation.
  • Complete maintenance documentation, work orders, and system updates in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Support and train Maintenance Technicians on routine maintenance tasks and troubleshooting methods.
  • Share expertise and best practices to build team technical strength and operational readiness.
  • Provide detailed shift handovers, ensuring continuity across teams and operations.
  • Prioritize work based on production impact, due dates, and clear expectations from customers.
  • Communicate progress, barriers, and completion timelines to peers, managers, and cross-functional partners via appropriate channels (e.g., Teams, email, meetings).
  • Manage time effectively, escalate when needed, and ensure accountability for assigned tasks and commitments.
