The GET (Global Engineering Team) organization operates as one integrated team in the support of the current and future requirements of our Manufacturing and Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) and in partnership with key internal/external network. The Senior Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for managing a multi craft (mechanical, electrical and instrumentation) group of maintenance technicians, in the execution of manufacturing equipment maintenance. Working closely with manufacturing, the maintenance team lead will form part of the overall site goal of maximizing asset performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline required; equivalent combination Associate Degree with electrical licensure/certification and significant maintenance experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of production maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical foundation in maintenance and engineering principles supporting manufacturing operations.
  • Working knowledge of cGMP requirements for maintenance in an FDA-regulated environment.
  • Working knowledge of biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical, or chemical processes, including utilities and facilities systems.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, strong execution focus, and a customer- and team-oriented mindset; thorough understanding of GMP and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven influencing and collaboration skills with strong analytical and critical-thinking capabilities; effective conflict and risk management; excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior people leadership/people management experience.
  • Project management experience (capital, reliability, maintenance improvement, or shutdown/turnaround projects).
  • Proficiency with CMMS/enterprise systems and common applications (SAP preferred).
  • Experience supporting greenfield or brownfield GMP manufacturing facility start-up, including process equipment, automation, utilities, facilities, and maintenance operations.
  • FPX certification and/or Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience.
  • Electrical license/certification preferred (or ability to obtain required credentials within an agreed-upon timeframe).
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (including off-shifts) to support business needs.
  • Requires up to 10% domestic and/or international travel

Responsibilities

  • Supervises a team of multi-craft maintenance technicians and is accountable for conducting effective performance management
  • Responsible for planning, designing and implementing maintenance programs to optimize the availability and productivity of manufacturing facilities and equipment
  • Analyze, develop, and implement effective and operationally-sound functional strategies and initiatives
  • Assists with the coordination and execution of processes and assignments for the Maintenance area
  • Reports to managers on project activities and progress against key deliverables, ensuring projects are on schedule to meet agreed timelines
  • Supports and/or leads root cause analysis and implementation of robust solutions to downtime issues
  • Maintains consistent workflow and productivity of the team, and proactively identifies and resolves operational issues and concerns
  • Coaches less experienced staff, recommending plans for continual improvement, and consistently evaluates individual and team performance against operational goals
  • Creates and maintains a training program to ensure the team is up to date with the manufacturing maintenance technology and industry trends
  • Monitors equipment operations to ensure cGMP compliance
  • Develops and executes maintenance procedures, preventive and corrective maintenance, and equipment files for the manufacturing equipment
  • Identifies appropriate spare parts to ensure maximum availability of equipment.
  • Evaluates equipment reliability to identify trends and maximize equipment uptime
  • Creation and management of appropriate maintenance contracts
  • Liaises with production staff to coordinate repair work, statutory safety inspections and supply of new plant and equipment with production schedules.
