About The Position

ESFM is the corporate facilities management (FM) division of Compass Group USA. This position is responsible for improving maintenance workforce productivity, safety, and work quality by anticipating and eliminating delays through effective planning and scheduling. This role ensures that maintenance work is fully prepared, properly prioritized, efficiently resourced, and executed in alignment with business, client, and regulatory requirements. The Senior Maintenance Planner focuses on future work readiness, typically planning at least one week ahead, and acts as a central coordination point between maintenance management, technicians, operations, purchasing, and contractors.

Requirements

  • Improving maintenance workforce productivity, safety, and work quality by anticipating and eliminating delays through effective planning and scheduling.
  • Ensuring that maintenance work is fully prepared, properly prioritized, efficiently resourced, and executed in alignment with business, client, and regulatory requirements.
  • Focuses on future work readiness, typically planning at least one week ahead.
  • Acts as a central coordination point between maintenance management, technicians, operations, purchasing, and contractors.
  • Does not supervise personnel.
  • Maintenance Manager / Supervisor Owns and executes the active daily and weekly schedule.
  • Has authority to modify the schedule based on emerging priorities.
  • Should only interrupt scheduled work if the new work is of higher priority.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technicians with clear, accurate, and complete job information so work can be performed safely and efficiently.
  • Identify all required parts, materials, tools, permits, and access requirements and ensure they are staged and kitted prior to execution.
  • Coordinate with clients and operations to ensure equipment availability at the scheduled time.
  • Ensure that the highest priority work is executed based on business needs, risk, and asset criticality.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance Managers and Supervisors to build realistic, executable plans and schedules.
  • Focus on future work (minimum one week forward).
  • Ensure work is ready before being scheduled.
  • Develop weekly schedules for 20–30 technicians.
  • Assign work based on craft skill level and estimated duration.
  • Schedule 100% of available technician time.
  • Maintain and monitor maintenance backlog by craft and priority.
  • Forecast labor hours using open Work Order (WO) data from the CMMS.
