The Machinist performs the setup, operation, and adjustment of various types of conventional or automatic machines including mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other precision equipment. Specifically: Works from drawings and written instructions to create new and replacement parts. Repairs and reworks production non-conforming parts back to specification. Work is task oriented. Machining is performed to Kinetics Drive Solutions’ QA specifications and tolerances. Provides assistance and guidance to junior employees.

Requirements

  • Proven organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting
  • Work under pressure
  • Ability to operate machining and hand tools safely and effectively
  • Ability to lift 50-60 pounds
  • Attention to detail, especially ensuring specific steps are followed to complete a task
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • 2-10 years of experience.
  • Working knowledge of WHMIS

Nice To Haves

  • ITA Red Seal is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ability to efficiently setup and run small & medium production runs on lathe and/or mill, both conventional and CNC
  • Running first articles, performing measurements and making offset adjustments
  • Perform machining tasks to support production and prototype projects
  • Perform labor to support building maintenance tasks
  • Maintain a clean and organized work facility
  • Demonstrates the values of safety, teamwork, services, integrity, accountability and ingenuity
  • Possess a good mechanical aptitude to support manufacturing operations to locate and diagnose defects in production equipment
  • Perform incidental tasks as required to complete the larger task
  • Work with others in assembly and production team environment to achieve greater efficiency and productivity.
  • Support our drive for enhanced performance and improved quality and efficiency
  • Adherence to Corporate Policy and SOP’s
  • Other duties as assigned.
