About The Position
The Senior Machinist is a key member of a high-performing manufacturing support team responsible for maintaining and improving production equipment and tooling within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Machine Shop Manager, this position plays a critical role in supporting daily operations through precision machining, equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of five years of machining experience or a machining-related technical degree.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience programming and operating CNC lathes and mills.
- Strong knowledge of machining practices and precision tolerances.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Nice To Haves
- TIG welding experience.
- Metal fabrication experience.
- Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient machine shop environment while supporting manufacturing operations.
- Manage project activities, including cost tracking, material procurement, consumable inventory management, and equipment maintenance.
- Repair and refurbish manufacturing tooling, fixtures, and production equipment as required.
- Set up, program, and operate CNC machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, saws, and grinders.
- Inspect and verify finished parts for dimensional accuracy and conformance to drawings and quality standards.
- Utilize CMM equipment to inspect, measure, and reverse-engineer components.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records.
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and equipment issues.
- Support continuous improvement efforts.
