About The Position

Valvoline Global Operations is seeking a Senior Machine Operator to join their team. This role involves leading a small production line team, operating and interacting with packaging equipment, handling material movements, and working to meet production schedules. The Senior Operator will also coordinate production schedules, generate process orders, and complete necessary paperwork. Requirements

• HS diploma or GED equivalent
• Experience in industrial manufacturing. Prefer high speed manufacturing such as consumer products or food and beverage.
• Basic computer skills
• Positive attitude
• Previous experience communicating with and leading small teams
• Ability to coach employees and drive teams for results
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Operate with a safety-first mindset while leading your team
• Follow all SOPs
• Coordinate weekly Gemba meetings and communicate priorities with management
• Process paperwork in SAP and on production schedule
• Ensure all quality standards are met (checking first piece on inbound packaging components, some in process testing of materials, and communication with lab team)
• Operate equipment up to efficiency standards (depalletizes, case conveyers, case packers, fillers, carton erecters, palletizers, wrappers, etc.)
• Performing routine preventative maintenance and inspections on packaging equipment and or PITs
• Maintain 5S standards (continuous cleaning of area while plant is operating)
• Coordinate shift hand offs
• Communication with maintenance team
• Maintain cross training on multiple pieces of equipment
• Remaining up to date with safety, LMS, and ISO trainings
• Manual operations may include putting corrugated board on packaging lines, handling bottles or cases, pouch/bags and cleaning of equipment
• Employees will be trained and must utilize machine safety standards that will include control of hazardous energy, LOTO, and fortress keys
• Employees will be required to be engaged in additional safety programs which include but are not limited to PPE, ergonomics, PIT, and safety/environmental programs
