Requirements

  • 10+ years proven experience in machine building, maintenance, and repair
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical principles, blueprints, and troubleshooting techniques
  • Ability to interpret and read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
  • Extensive experience using mills, lathes, grinders

Nice To Haves

  • relevant certification a plus (NIMS, Mechatronics, Related Theory, Tool & Die)

Responsibilities

  • Operates mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses, and other tool room machinery
  • Reads and understands complex sketches, blueprints, and CAD drawings of mechanical assemblies.
  • Proficient in interpreting geometric tolerancing.
  • Reads and understands complex electrical drawings.
  • Able to interpret electrical component requirements for installation and operation as provided by the manufacturer
  • Reads and understands complex pneumatic and hydraulic drawings.
  • Able to interpret fluid component requirements for installation and operation as provided by the manufacturer
  • Performs mechanical assembly and adjustment of complex mechanisms and complete machines.
  • Will modify parts as necessary.
  • Routes wiring and connects electrical components to main and auxiliary panels.
  • Tests function and performance of electrical systems.
  • Routes hose and piping and connects pneumatic, hydraulic, and fluid components to valves and control devices.
  • Tests function and performance of fluid systems.
  • Has full understanding of all hazards and dangers associated with the mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems associated with the construction, testing and operation of complex equipment
  • Utilizes appropriate measuring equipment to verify dimensions & specifications of complex geometries
