Requirements

  • Extensive experience in handling complex claims and litigation.
  • Reserve authority in the $200K range.
  • Strong background in carrier operations; E&S market experience is a significant plus.
  • Active adjuster licenses in Florida and Texas (additional states preferred).
  • Nationwide exposure is highly desirable.
  • Advanced-level expertise in coverage analysis, investigation, evaluation, and negotiation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and monitor a high-volume caseload effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in CGL (BI, product liability, premises liability) claims.
  • Familiarity with heavy construction industries.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of 100-125 primarily litigated commercial third-party general liability claims.
  • Review and set up new loss assignments promptly, adhering to department guidelines.
  • Establish and regularly evaluate loss and expense reserves for adequacy and accuracy.
  • Analyze policy language and loss facts to make appropriate coverage decisions.
  • Draft complex coverage correspondence, including reservation of rights and disclaimers.
  • Investigate, evaluate, and negotiate claims to ensure prompt and economical resolution.
  • Direct and control activities of outside vendors, including defense counsel and experts.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports, including Large Loss Reports, to management.
  • Serve as a technical resource, mentor, and trainer within the department.
  • Maintain compliance with state adjuster licensing and continuing education requirements.
  • Participate in cross-departmental projects, audits, and initiatives as needed.
