About The Position

We are Highdive, a NetEase Games ThunderFire development studio from Montreal. Bond by no borders, we create games that let us dive into pure emotions, together. Our team in Montreal is growing and we are looking for an Intermediate Lighting Artist to help us lay the groundwork for our original stylized project in UE5! You will work closely towards the established Art Direction - create and explore exciting lighting for our game. Requirements

3+ years of experience in lighting roles within the gaming industry.
Proven track record of contributing to at least one shipped AAA title in a lighting capacity.
Expertise with Unreal Engine 5, including Lumen, or experience working with proprietary engines developed by AAA studios.
Strong foundational knowledge of real-world lighting principles, including color theory, light sources, brightness, composition, shadow, physically-based rendering (PBR), and exposure settings.
Solid understanding of lighting performance optimization, rendering pipelines, and technical constraints in game development.
Self-motivated and driven, with excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

Design and implement global and localized lighting for game environments, ensuring alignment with gameplay, narrative, and mood requirements.
Collaborate with level designers, level artists, game play and cinematics to deliver visually stunning and immersive player experiences.
Refine and adjust in-game lighting based on art direction and gameplay needs.
Utilize Unreal Engine 5’s Blueprint system to streamline lighting processes and enhance workflow efficiency.
Troubleshoot and solve technical issues related to lighting, performance, and optimization.
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in lighting technology and techniques to push the boundaries of visual fidelity.
