About The Position

The Senior Lift Maintenance Mechanic maintains, repairs, and assists in operating chairlifts. The role performs preventative maintenance and troubleshoots malfunctions, including work on APU's, electric motors, and line gear according to manufacturers' maintenance manuals. The mechanic also trains personnel in proper equipment operation, manages equipment and parts inventories, prepares operational and maintenance reports, maintains technical knowledge, and works toward service-level objectives and department goals set by the immediate supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, five years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five years of experience with ski lifts.
• Metal fabrication and welding skills.
• Knowledge of low-voltage controls.
• Rigging experience.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Ability to crouch, sit, and/or stand for long periods; climb ladders; and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
• Interest in working with a team to achieve a common goal.

Nice To Haves

• NDT Level 2.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper operation of chairlifts and personnel by performing preventative maintenance on APU's, electric motors, and line gear according to manufacturers' maintenance manuals; troubleshoot malfunctions and train personnel in proper operation.
• Locate problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and checking for overheating.
• Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using come-a-longs, cranes, heavy equipment, rigging, hand tools, and power tools; examine and diagnose failures and correct the condition.
• Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventory by checking stock levels, anticipating needs, and using resources as needed to accomplish job results.
• Prepare operational and maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
• Maintain technical knowledge.
• Meet service-level objectives and department goals set by the immediate supervisor.
