About The Position

Patreon is seeking a Senior Lifecycle Marketing Manager to own the strategic and operational aspects of its lifecycle program for both fan and creator audiences. The role will initially focus on building out the fan lifecycle program, while also managing the strategy, governance, and execution of creator lifecycle communications. This is a high-impact individual contributor role requiring the ability to set vision, build systems, align stakeholders, and ensure quality execution. The manager will define how Patreon engages fans throughout their journey (from first interaction to re-engagement) and shape communications for creators across onboarding, activation, growth, engagement, retention, product adoption, and operational moments. The role also encompasses the operating and technical foundation of lifecycle marketing, including audience strategy, journey architecture, measurement, experimentation, channel governance, deliverability, localization, data quality, and the marketing technology roadmap. This is a hands-on role, translating strategy into an executable roadmap, building and launching programs, establishing repeatable processes, and laying the groundwork for future team growth.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in lifecycle, CRM, retention, growth, or a related field, with experience owning complex programs at scale.
  • Experience building and owning a lifecycle program, including strategy, operating rhythms, journey architecture, measurement, and technical foundations.
  • Ability to combine strategy with hands-on execution, including building journeys in Braze and troubleshooting technical aspects.
  • Braze expertise, including canvases, segmentation, triggers, personalization, experimentation, channel configuration, and platform governance.
  • Technical fluency to partner with Engineering and Data teams on event taxonomies, identity architecture, integrations, APIs, data pipelines, and data quality.
  • SQL proficiency is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to turn data into decisions, define success metrics, evaluate performance, and make clear recommendations.
  • Understanding of two-sided ecosystems, with experience at a creator platform, marketplace, subscription, media, or community business being a strong plus.
  • Strong independent judgment for prioritization, risk assessment, and launch readiness.
  • Ability to lead complex work across teams, align stakeholders, and translate between technical and non-technical audiences.
  • High bar for copy, targeting, user experience, and operational quality, with a focus on repeatable processes and scalable capabilities.
  • Ability to make others better through feedback, coaching, and sharing context.
  • Inspiration from Patreon's mission and values, with a focus on creators first, building with craft, making it happen, and winning together.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Iterable and platform migrations.
  • Experience at a creator platform, marketplace, subscription, media, or community business.

Responsibilities

  • Own the lifecycle strategy and roadmap end to end, defining audience framework, lifecycle moments, journey architecture, channel strategy, orchestration approach, personalization model, and prioritized use cases.
  • Champion both fan and creator audiences, understanding their motivations and behaviors to identify high-impact opportunities and strengthen relationships.
  • Build and execute multi-channel programs, including designing, writing, building, QAing, launching, and optimizing campaigns and automated journeys in Braze.

  • Own audience and data quality in partnership with Data Science, Data Engineering, Engineering, Product, Trust & Safety, and Policy.
  • Create the lifecycle operating model, establishing clear processes for intake, prioritization, planning, build, localization, QA, approval, launch, and post-launch.
  • Protect channel health and user trust by owning deliverability, frequency management, audience overlap, consent, compliance, and safeguards.
  • Develop the measurement and experimentation system, defining KPIs, building dashboards, designing tests, synthesizing results, and driving program improvements.
  • Lead cross-functional delivery by aligning stakeholders, clarifying ownership, surfacing dependencies, and driving complex initiatives.
  • Serve as the company's expert on lifecycle channels, creating guidance, coaching collaborators, and influencing roadmaps.
