About The Position

As Senior Legal Counsel within Signify Health’s business, you will report to the AVP, Assistant General Counsel for Signify Health and will join a team of attorneys within Signify Health’s Legal Department. You will work collaboratively with and provide strategic legal counsel to internal business partners with respect to Signify Health’s business. You will be a key strategic partner to senior leaders, proactively identifying business and legal risks and advising business partners on a wide variety of matters in a fast-paced environment. Your work will include providing solutions which balance legal issues and business objectives on matters related to client agreements, products and services, as well as other legal and regulatory compliance matters. You will be expected to develop a keen understanding of Signify Health’s business and the operational goals of assigned internal business partners, working diligently to develop and maintain positive relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization. You will recommend practical and sound advice and take an active role in driving projects to final results.

Requirements

8+ years of legal experience with a law firm or healthcare company.
Bachelor’s Degree and Juris Doctorate degree.
Admission to practice law in at least one state and member in good standing of applicable state bar association(s).

Nice To Haves

Strong knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations, and fraud and abuse issues (including clinician licensing/scope of practice, corporate practice of medicine, AKS, Stark and FCA).
Experience drafting and negotiating complex agreements and services agreements.
5+ years’ experience communicating with senior levels within a large organization
Ability to collaborate effectively and work as a team player in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, initiative, and drive.

Responsibilities

Serve as lead counsel for specified areas within Signify Health’s business, including assigned client accounts, products, services, and business partners or functional areas.
Provide timely, accurate and actionable guidance to internal business partners.
Advise business partners with respect to the application of federal and state laws and regulations (including AKS, Stark and FCA) to business activities for the specified areas within Signify Health.
Provide legal expertise on various initiatives, projects and/or specialized legal matters affecting assigned areas and perform special research projects.
Provide strategic, actionable legal support related to Signify Health, including responsibility for reviewing, drafting and negotiating complex agreements and working with the Signify Health team to stand up programs.
Consult with other subject matter legal/compliance experts, including HR, Corporate, Litigation, Privacy, Government Affairs and Compliance.
Develop a deep understanding of operational systems relevant to assigned areas.
