About The Position

The Department of Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics (MEAM) within the School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Pennsylvania is seeking an experienced entrepreneur and innovator to join its faculty as a Senior Lecturer in our Engineering Entrepreneurship program. The Entrepreneurship program offers courses in entrepreneurship for both undergraduate and graduate students and works with vibrant innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem at Penn.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (master’s or Ph.D.) in engineering or an equivalent.
• Proven record of entrepreneurship as a founder, co-founder or early employee of at least one successful technology startup, or experience working with or supporting successful technology startups.
• Commitment to teaching entrepreneurship.

Responsibilities

• Teaching courses in the fundamentals of technological innovation and entrepreneurship.
• Creating new educational activities that incorporate entrepreneurial training for all levels.
• Fostering partnerships between the Penn Engineering community and entrepreneurs and investors in the Greater Philadelphia region to enhance the innovation ecosystem.
• Providing mentorship to undergraduate and graduate students of all engineering and computer science disciplines.
