About The Position

The Department of Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering seeks a qualified Semester Lecturer (Temporary) to provide instructional leadership and delivery for CONSYSM 3545 – Structures for Construction Managers I for the duration of the appointment. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of course instruction, student learning, assessment, and course administration while supporting departmental and university educational initiatives.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Construction Management or a closely related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of structural systems and construction practices relevant to construction management education.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively teach and engage undergraduate students in a higher education environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality instruction for CONSYSM 3545 – Structures for Construction Managers I, including scheduled classroom and laboratory activities.
  • Develop and maintain course materials, syllabi, assignments, examinations, and other instructional resources.
  • Create and enhance e-learning and online instructional content to support student success and engagement.
  • Maintain regular office hours and provide academic support, mentoring, and guidance to students.
  • Assess and evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback on assignments, projects, and examinations.
  • Oversee and coordinate the activities of Undergraduate Teaching Assistants (UTAs), including training, guidance, and supervision related to course delivery and grading.
  • Participate in instructional team meetings and collaborate with faculty and staff to support curriculum objectives.
  • Maintain accurate student records and submit grades in accordance with university policies and deadlines.
  • Engage in and support required peer evaluation of teaching activities.
  • Participate in departmental and university accreditation assessment processes, including the collection and reporting of student learning outcomes data.
  • Comply with all university, college, and departmental policies, procedures, and academic standards.
  • Perform other instructional and related duties as assigned.
