About The Position

Mission Lane is seeking a consultative, business-first learning designer to join its Learning & Development team as a Senior Learning Experience Designer. The company is investing in behavioral and soft-skill development to support its growth and needs someone who can identify business needs, build effective solutions, implement them, and demonstrate measurable improvements. This role involves working closely with operations directors and senior leaders across the enterprise to diagnose development needs and create solutions. The goal is to build strong business relationships, identify high-value development opportunities, and deliver tangible improvements in team collaboration and customer service.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on corporate instructional design experience.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Instructional Design, Adult Education, Educational Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive ILT design experience, including facilitator guides, participant workbooks, and classroom activities for adult learners in corporate environments.
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale design projects from kickoff through rollout with minimal oversight, including timeline and deliverable management.
  • Expert-level proficiency with eLearning technology (e.g., Articulate).
  • Working knowledge of audio and video editing.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design models, with practical application skills.
  • Hands-on experience using generative AI tools in the design process (prototyping outlines, building storyboards, creating multimedia assets).
  • Experience designing for operational skills, business skills, individual contributor development, and leadership.
  • A portfolio showcasing the ability to translate complex content into multiple formats.
  • Ability to travel approximately 4-6 times per year.

Nice To Haves

  • ATD Master Instructional Designer certification or CPTD.
  • Background in financial services, fintech, or other high-volume operations environments where learning directly impacts customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Running needs and task analyses to understand business requirements.
  • Building learning solutions across various modalities, including facilitator guides, participant workbooks, ILT decks, Articulate Storyline courses, job aids, and hybrid approaches.
  • Partnering with directors and senior individual contributors as a trusted design advisor.
  • Utilizing AI tools for faster prototyping, storyboarding, and asset generation.
  • Maintaining the accuracy and currency of the content library as the business evolves.
  • Facilitating pilot sessions for new material launches and covering ongoing courses when necessary.
  • Mentoring a junior designer and contributing to the team's design and creative standards.
