About The Position

The Transformation Office serves as an internal consulting and continuous improvement partner for the UNT System Enterprise. The office works alongside system offices and university teams to strengthen processes, improve service delivery, eliminate waste, and create better experiences for students, employees, and stakeholders. Grounded in Lean principles, process excellence, and respect for people, the Transformation Office supports strategic initiatives through facilitation, training, process mapping, project support, KPI development, and structured problem solving. The team helps departments work smarter, build improvement capability, and deliver measurable results aligned with the UNT System’s values. The Senior Lean Program Administrator leads process improvement and transformation initiatives across the UNT System enterprise. Reporting to the Chief Transformation Officer, this role provides expert leadership in Lean Six Sigma, change management, and organizational development to improve quality, efficiency, and service delivery in core administrative and operational processes. Work is prioritized through the Transformation Office intake/portfolio process and may be concentrated in designated value streams or cross-functional initiatives based on enterprise needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in business, accounting, finance, engineering, organizational leadership, or related field
  • 7 years of experience in process improvement, financial operations, or organizational transformation.
  • Deep knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement methods and tools.
  • Ability to translate strategy into executable charters, roadmaps, and measurable KPIs.
  • Proficiency in change management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong facilitation skills and ability to build collaborative relationships across the enterprise.
  • Data-driven decision-making, reporting, and performance measurement skills.
  • Leadership and coaching capabilities to develop people and build organizational capacity.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in business, public administration, organizational development, or a related discipline.
  • Certification as a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt (MBB).
  • Experience in higher education, healthcare, government, or other large, complex organizations.
  • Proven record of delivering measurable operational and service results through process transformation.
  • Experience building Lean management systems (visual management, leader standard work, huddles) and benefits tracking disciplines (hard $, cost avoidance, capacity restored).

Responsibilities

  • Lead Lean Six Sigma initiatives across functional areas to streamline processes, reduce defects, eliminate waste, and optimize resources.
  • Partner with executive sponsors, department leaders, and the Chief Transformation Officer to design and execute transformation roadmaps aligned to institutional priorities.
  • Facilitate value stream mapping, Kaizen/Rapid Improvement events, and root cause analyses to improve end-to-end services and workflows across the enterprise.
  • Apply structured change management frameworks (e.g., PROSCI/ADKAR) to build stakeholder alignment, minimize resistance, and sustain adoption of new ways of working.
  • Deliver Lean Six Sigma training and workshops for leaders, managers, and staff to build internal continuous improvement capability.
  • Coach and mentor Lean practitioners and project teams to strengthen pipelines of problem-solvers and embed continuous improvement into day-to-day work.
  • Ensure improvements align with institutional policies, audit requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Define, track, and report outcomes such as cycle time reduction, error reduction, capacity restored, customer experience improvements, and cost avoidance/savings through dashboards and reports.
  • Provide regular updates to the Chief Transformation Officer and project sponsors on progress, risks, dependencies, and realized benefits.
  • Support portfolio governance and enterprise problem-solving practices (intake/prioritization, charters, KPI definition, benefits tracking, and standard work) as assigned.
