As a Senior Lead Software Engineer - Windows Server Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector Compute Infrastructure Platform (CIP) organization, you exhibit both depth and breadth of knowledge regarding software, applications, and technical processes across multiple technical disciplines. You also have a specialization in a specific domain within infrastructure engineering to drive programs or initiatives consisting of multiple technologies and applications.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on Software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Advanced knowledge of distributed systems running either Windows Server, IIS, SQL Server and the underlying hardware and hypervisors
  • Extensive experience of one or more areas of software engineering such as networking, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, or performance assessments
  • Adept in specific software technology and programming languages (e.g., C#, .NET, Ansible, PowerShell, Python, etc.)
  • Extensive experience with software engineering in an enterprise environment with a demonstrated focus on integration with a heterogeneous environment, creating, documenting & automating test harnesses and results, using data to set firmwide technical standards
  • Deep technical knowledge across multiple domains
  • Demonstrated experience leading effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting) with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching senior engineers/leads on compliant usage patterns and controls.
  • Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure and multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds
  • Experience translating technical results and requirements to business language and presenting to leadership teams

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to managing budgets and experience in Windows Server Clusters.
  • Experience in infrastructure virtualization with VMware, Hyper-V, KVM or other hypervisors
  • Experience in chaos engineering and testing with tools such as Gremlin
  • Experience translating technical results and requirements to business language and presenting to leadership teams
  • FEDERAL DEPOSIT INSURANCE ACT: This position is subject to Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act. As such, an employment offer for this position is contingent on JPMorgan Chase’s review of criminal conviction history, including pretrial diversions or program entries.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and maintain Windows Server infrastructure (2016/2019/2022/2025) across physical, virtual and Container environments.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts for server provisioning, configuration, and monitoring.
  • Develop automation for creating and deploying images for Physical and virtual machines
  • Ensure compliance with security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects and initiatives.
  • Applies deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies focused on analyzing complex data and systems, anticipating issues, and finding ways to mitigate risk
  • Works with other platforms to architect and implement changes required to resolve issues and modernize the organization and its technology processes
  • Manages software engineering in accordance with business requirements' could be a suitable replacement
  • Drives adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices across teams to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (e.g., AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test acceleration, release readiness, incident/root-cause analysis), while establishing measurable validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promoting reuse of proven patterns and automation within the SDLC/TLM toolchain.
  • Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation at scale.
