Job Summary: This position is responsible for providing personal care, delegated nursing and medical care, housekeeping, meal preparation, and activities designed to maintain the resident's physical and emotional well-being. As well as being on an 0n-call rotation, which may require you to physical come into the site when needed.

Requirements

  • Must be able to be on an on-call rotation
  • Must be able to work alternating weekends
  • Must be willing to continually learn and apply new techniques for programming for lower functioning residents with memory loss.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work under the direction of the RN Director and other supervisory staff.
  • Must maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Must possess a desire to work with the frail, elderly and those with multiple medical issues.
  • Must demonstrate team work abilities
  • Must possess good listening, verbal and written communication skills.
  • May be required to work days, afternoons, nights, weekends and /or holidays
  • A genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of seniors.
  • Empathy and Patience: The ability to connect with residents and their families in a meaningful way.
  • Leadership: A strong desire to lead by example—whether that means taking ownership during high-impact projects or participating in the on-call rotation alongside your peers

  • No Experience Needed: While previous caregiving experience is a bonus, we provide comprehensive training for all new team members.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the trainer, mentor to the new staff assisting with onboarding.
  • Maintaining the training schedule, discuss with the nurse/ ALC any challenges that the new team member is having and work as a team to revolve any issues.
  • Assist the resident with their actives of daily living (ADLs) which include but are not limited to bathing, eating, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, and continence.
  • Applying braces as needed per care plan.
  • Repositioning clients as needed.
  • Observing clients for change of medical condition and reporting changes to the Nurse.
  • Assist with fall prevention
  • Assist with behavior management
  • Do the laundry as needed
  • Perform any needed housekeeping activity
  • Prepare and serve meals to the residents
  • Plan and host activities for the residents
  • Administer medications as directed in care plan
  • Document and report any changes in health or behaviors of the residents
  • Monitor wandering residents
  • Must be able to remine professional at all times
  • Provide end-of -life care
  • Keep up to date on emergency procedure and assist in emergency situation.
  • Additionally, in-service/training sessions must be attended and the RN instructions (Written or verbal) to the employee must be followed at all times.
  • Must understand the vulnerable adults act, Bill of Rights and HIPPA.
