About The Position

Reporting to the Manager, Sustainable Development Projects, the Senior Lead, Projects, is accountable for providing direct supervision to a team of project managers (Project Leads), offering ongoing leadership, guidance, development, and mentorship to support their growth and effectiveness in their roles. You will be responsible for a program of environmental projects, predominantly instream, ensuring your team delivers professional outcomes that meet business needs by utilizing EVR’s project development framework to manage scope, quality, cost, and schedule. To be successful, we are looking for someone with experience in project management, stakeholder management and a solid understanding of financial and general business acumen to enable informed decision-making and alignment with organizational objectives. You will need to achieve results through both positional authority and influence, the ability to communicate effectively and in a timely manner with project stakeholders, Subject Matter Experts and Sr. Management. The ability to think critically, balance multiple competing priorities and utilize decision quality tools and processes to provide sound recommendations aligned with business needs. Requirements

  • Degree in Earth Science, Engineering (Civil, Environmental), Forestry, Biology or environmental-related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum five years of supervisory experience in a professional environment
  • Professional accreditation, such as PMP, RPBio, PAg, or P.Eng
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Technical knowledge and demonstrated experience in the fisheries discipline, field monitoring and sampling programs, preferably in a resources management or mining environment considered an asset
  • Familiarity with provincial (Water Sustainability Act) and federal regulatory approvals (Fisheries Act) practices, legislation, and regulations, in particular related to instreams works

Responsibilities

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Act as Project Director for a program of projects, accountable for ensuring projects follow the EVR project delivery framework, delivering full project performance, including health and safety, environmental compliance, schedule adherence, cost control, and quality outcomes
  • Provide guidance, support, mentorship and access to training for team of Leads, ensuring they have necessary skills and qualifications
  • Support the recruitment and onboarding of new team members and prioritize team resources aligned with business objectives
  • Complete financial planning for the program, with accountability for program-wide budgeting, forecasting and financial tracking.
  • Manage Employee Time and Expense Reporting reviews and approvals
