About The Position

Crux is hiring a senior, hands-on marketing strategy leader to shape how the company brings its capital solutions to market for clean energy developers and sponsors. The role sits at the intersection of marketing, commercial strategy, and product, with ownership of positioning, customer reach, and initiatives that drive commercial results. Reporting to the Senior Director, Marketing Strategy, this person will lead marketing strategy for capital seekers—developers and sponsors making complex financing decisions. The role translates understanding of their needs, challenges, and decision-making into differentiated positioning, go-to-market programs, and insights that inform business strategy. It partners closely with commercial and product leaders and with the marketing counterpart focused on capital providers, owning initiatives from strategy through execution and measurement.

Requirements

  • Direct experience with clean energy developers or sponsors and a strong understanding of project development, financing needs, and decisions that drive capital formation.
  • At least 5 years of experience in B2B marketing, product marketing, commercial strategy, or a related strategic function, including experience in a startup or high-growth environment.
  • Demonstrated ownership of strategic initiatives from opportunity identification and recommendation development through execution and measurement.
  • Experience developing positioning and go-to-market strategies for complex products or services, ideally across multiple customer segments or buyer personas.
  • Ability to translate technical and financial complexity into clear, differentiated customer messaging.
  • Experience developing commercial enablement programs and materials that improve customer-facing effectiveness and contribute to business outcomes.
  • Strong cross-functional influence and relationship-building skills, including earning trust, challenging assumptions, and aligning senior stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Structured, analytical thinking and sound commercial judgment, including the ability to synthesize ambiguous information into clear recommendations and action.

Responsibilities

  • Own go-to-market planning and execution for products, services, and features serving developers and sponsors; define target segments, shape launch strategies, and prioritize opportunities with product, commercial, and marketing teams.
  • Develop differentiated narratives and value propositions connecting Crux's capabilities to capital seekers' financing needs and business priorities, and maintain clear, compelling, consistent messaging across customer touchpoints.
  • Represent the developer and sponsor audience by applying knowledge of project development, financing structures, and capital markets to positioning, product strategy, and commercial priorities.
  • Synthesize customer feedback, competitive intelligence, and market trends to identify opportunities, sharpen differentiation, and recommend where and how Crux should compete.
  • Equip customer-facing teams with messaging, tools, and training; develop training programs, competitive battlecards, and sales plays, and measure their effectiveness.
  • Partner with product, commercial, market intelligence, and marketing leaders to align business priorities and coordinated action.
  • Collaborate with the capital-provider marketing counterpart to connect strategies across both sides of the market.

  • Healthcare premiums covered 100% for employees; dependents subsidized 80% as a group, with plans through Aetna nationwide and Kaiser in Washington and California.

  • 20 days of paid time off per year.
  • 401(k) account fees supported by Crux.
