About The Position

Encore Semi, Inc. is seeking an experienced Analog/Mixed-Signal IC Design Engineer to architect and tape out high-speed data converters (ADCs/DACs) in advanced FinFET nodes from 7nm down to 3nm. The engineer will own the full design cycle, from system architecture through post-silicon validation, for next-generation HPC, AI, and communications hardware. The position is available in San Jose, California; San Diego, California; or remotely within the United States. Full-time and contract options are available. U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status is required. The listed compensation is $150,000–$180,000 per year, plus comprehensive benefits for full-time employees.

Requirements

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 10+ years of hands-on high-speed data converter design experience and successful silicon tape-outs.
  • Proven track record in advanced FinFET nodes (3nm, 5nm, or 7nm).
  • Strong command of FinFET-specific design constraints, including fin quantization, degraded gm/gds, and 3D RC extraction.
  • Experience with Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre/PrimeSim, and Calibre PEX/Quantus.
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and design multi-GS/s ADC/DAC architectures, including Time-Interleaved SAR, Pipeline, Flash, or RF-DACs.
  • Design transistor-level circuits such as track-and-hold circuits, comparators, low-jitter clock paths, and bias networks in 7nm–3nm FinFET processes.
  • Implement background and foreground digital calibration for offset, gain, timing skew, and linearity.
  • Supervise layout to mitigate layout-dependent effects (LDE), parasitics, electromigration, and self-heating.
  • Lead post-silicon lab bring-up and bench testing, and correlate models with hardware.

Benefits

  • 15 days of PTO per calendar year
  • 10 paid holidays per calendar year
  • Medical benefits; company covers 80% of premiums for employees and dependents
  • Dental and vision benefits; company covers 50% of premiums for employees and dependents
