About The Position

The Senior Lead Caregiver at CorsoCare, located at Independence Village of Saginaw, is responsible for providing personalized care and assistance to residents within the community. Additionally, this role involves dedicating 2-3 days per week to administrative support for the CorsoCare Leadership Team. The Senior Lead Caregiver reports directly to the CorsoCare Personal Care Director.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to apply understanding to carry out written instructions as given by Laurus Leadership

Responsibilities

  • Lead and ensure adherence to 1440 care standards for residents and families.
  • Promote a positive work environment that encourages collaboration, teamwork, and effective communication with members of the team; includes coaching and providing support to care staff.
  • Participate in the hiring, firing, and disciplinary processes alongside the Director.
  • Assist in managing timely and accountable attendance.
  • Create and maintain resident care sheets based on contracted services.
  • Update task sheets and notify Laurus Home Care Leadership team of any services based on resident needs.
  • Communicate messages tactfully and timely with residents and families, ensuring the message has been received and understood.
  • Provide timely and detailed information to your Laurus Leader regarding any changes to a resident’s needs or care.
  • Create, maintain, and update staff schedules to meet wellness needs of residents.
  • Verify all care staff hours in NOVAtime and weekly hour’s report.
  • Complete care team schedules to assure proper coverage to meet care needs and according to budget.
  • Coordinate monthly staff schedules, arrange replacement staffing when necessary and maintain clear records of all changes, requests, and irregularities.
  • Assist with payroll and will act as a backup if the Director is out of office or unable to process payroll.
  • Assist in maintaining all appropriate records of training for new and existing staff.
  • Ensure all new hires enroll in Realis, receive their learning plans, and complete all required training.
  • Provide compassionate and competent care for residents by performing services such as bathing, showering, grooming assistance, assisting residents at mealtime, providing wheelchair and walking escorts, providing toileting and incontinence care assistance, assistance with morning and bedtime routines, performing light upkeep of resident rooms, answering resident call signals, and providing medication reminders.
  • Ensure all resident care is provided to the highest standard and in a private and dignified manner.
  • Respond in a timely manner to resident needs as observed, reported by staff, written communication, resident or family – Report to Laurus Home Care Leader.
  • Maintain appropriate and complete documentation per company policies.
  • Assist Director in maintaining employee files.
  • Work weekends, holidays and / or on call as necessary as assigned.
  • Work toward continual improvement of the overall organization.
  • Initiate and investigate occurrence reports.
  • Complete Safety Evaluations as needed.
  • Support the team and residents in the absence of the Director, which may include completing resident evaluations, Resident Care Conferences and Service Agreements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
