This position will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive transportation funding strategy for capital improvement and road bond programs. Responsibilities include continuously monitoring federal, state, regional, and discretionary funding opportunities; evaluating project eligibility and competitiveness; leading grant application development; coordinating with clients, stakeholders, and other funding partners; and managing post-award compliance, reporting, and reimbursement activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in transportation funding, infrastructure grants, transportation planning, or public sector program delivery, with a proven track record of securing and administering major grant awards and advancing complex, multi-agency transportation initiatives. This opportunity also entails being responsible for supervising design assignments and the technical production of urban design plans, design development drawings and construction documents. Coordinates efforts with project manager, design team and other disciplines on multiple, large-scale and complex projects to ensure that the client’s technical requirements for all urban design and landscape architecture aspects of project are fully met. Performs various project tasks where urban design and landscape architecture involvement is required or requested on major, complex projects. May serve as a Project Manager on a limited basis for select large scale projects. Regular task assignee on multiple projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture, Planning, Urban Design or related field and 10 years of related professional experience, or Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture, Planning, Urban Design or related field and 9 years of related professional experience
  • Experience in transportation funding, infrastructure grants, transportation planning, or public sector program delivery.
  • Proven track record of securing and administering major grant awards and advancing complex, multi-agency transportation initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as technical lead and task lead on planning, landscape architecture, and urban design projects.
  • Interfaces with client group and community stakeholders.
  • Conducts site visits to review implementation of project.
  • Responsible for significant portions of presentations and public facilitation.
  • Identifies and recommends appropriate technical procedures that should be used on a project.
  • Leads and prepares design documents, technical plans, and written reports on projects.
  • Develops and prepares work plans, scopes of work, fee proposals, and responses to RFP’s for projects.
  • Provides oversight in consistent delivery of quality work, on time, on budget, and to the client's satisfaction on every project.
  • Understands the design applications of construction materials, plan materials, construction methods, and the integration of landscape architecture and urban design with other disciplines.
  • Reviews shop drawings and requests for information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
