About The Position

At Canada West Land (CWL), we’re redefining land management through a collaborative, tech-enabled approach that puts people and progress first. We are currently looking for a Senior Land Analyst, based out of our Calgary Office, to take on a leadership role.

Requirements

  • Previous experience (5+ years) working on surface land projects or relevant experience.
  • Experience working in a broker environment preferred.
  • A strong understanding of Alberta and British Columbia regulatory processes and Consultation and Notification requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Post-secondary education in Land Administration is considered an asset
  • Other certificates or designations are an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Train the team to meet project deliverables
  • Direct and manage project work, maintaining scope and schedule
  • Collect data and provide status reports
  • Apply subject matter expertise to analyst work
  • Adapt to changes (regulatory, environmental, etc.)
  • Utilize internal resources, including personnel and software
  • Conduct weekly meetings with project team(s)
  • Ensure clear understanding of scope and communicate to project team
  • Complete check lists for tasks
  • Responsible for quality control throughout the project
  • Audit documentation for the acquisition of lands and third parties
  • Maintain land database with correct data
  • Ensure regulatory compliance
  • Analyze all documents associated with a task prior to starting and identify any support areas
  • Prepare documents (TWS, ROW, SL etc.)
  • Handle land title document preparation, submission, and registration
  • Obtain and manage receipt of third-party consents as part of third-party programs
  • Format reporting and line list to show a professional and consistent product
  • Understand regulatory consultation and notification requirements
  • Problem solve and research solutions on legislative requirements
  • Commit to continuous learning and upkeep on technologies including but not limited to the use of Artificial Intelligence to enhance productivity, decision making, and efficiency
  • Adhere to and stay informed on all Health & Safety requirements as outlined in the organization's policies, procedures, and any relevant legislation
  • Follow established safety procedures and protocols
  • Use required controls to protect against potential hazards, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Identify and report any unsafe conditions, hazards, incidents, or potential risks
  • Promote a culture of safety through active involvement, attending training, and supporting teammates
