Requirements

  • Associates degree in a science related field with 2+ years working in a life science laboratory setting, Bachelor's degree in a science related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Organizational skills including attention to detail.
  • Motivated – both individually and as a team member.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office or Google Drive Suite applications.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience cleaning and maintaining scientific laboratory equipment.
  • Experience scheduling and completing lab support activities.
  • Experience with 6S/Lean or other methodology for efficiency.
  • Experience training others.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare bench-scale bioreactors and bioreactor-related equipment (controllers, pumps, autoclaves, etc.) including building and autoclaving bioreactor parts and assemblies as well as assisting with bench-scale bioreactor operations (equipment cleaning and maintenance as well as run preparation).
  • Acquire knowledge in bioreactor control systems, software, and analytical equipment; maintain and troubleshoot instruments while maintaining a clean and organized lab space.
  • Learn to independently execute procedures and protocols and, with some supervision, plan and coordinate support function logistics while contributing to scientific functional area project work.
  • Autoclave cell culture materials and assemblies as needed.
  • Regularly inventory lab supplies and assist with ordering supplies.
  • Work with vendors and manufacturers on custom raw materials order and troubleshoot supplies challenges.
  • Support other groups with solution preparation and lab maintenance activities as time allows.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
