About The Position

Avocado is seeking a Senior Key Account Manager to join the Strategic Partnership Team. This role focuses on maintaining, selling, and growing relationships with large retail partners, particularly in the Southwest and East Coast regions. The position involves spearheading the cultivation of strategic relationships, driving growth across key retail accounts, and architecting enablement frameworks (tools, training, resources) to maximize partner success. Utilizing HubSpot CRM and advanced analytics, the role requires owning account intelligence, tracking performance metrics, and overseeing long-term initiative planning. Strategic travel for partner site visits, industry trade shows, and executive alignment meetings is a core component. The role also involves working with a team of account trainers and key account managers in the SE region, conducting store visits to drive sales and training, and acting as a coach and mentor. Additionally, the Senior Key Account Manager will assist in opening new strategic accounts on the East Coast, collaborating with the Retail Development Team on displays, POP options, and delivery/setup, and serving as a liaison between Avocado Green Brands (AGB) and assigned accounts. Responsibilities include managing timelines, overseeing execution, and follow-up for onboarded accounts, performing day-to-day account management tasks, creating and following up on tasks, and potentially spending time in East Coast flagship stores to build relationships and understand the business approach. The role is responsible for sales, profit, expenses, marketing, and merchandising functions for assigned partners, leading the customer account planning cycle, developing strategic plans, ensuring communication and adherence to customer-specific programs, and regularly evaluating partner sales performance to develop improvement strategies. The position also requires keeping management updated on partner plans and goal progression and performing other duties as assigned to support AGB's larger visions.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of sales experience with a demonstrated record of creating, maintaining, and growing outstanding client relationships.
  • Experience leading and managing a team of brand representatives.
  • Strong research, writing, editing, and client interaction skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Organized, self-motivated, with a proactive approach to managing and executing projects.
  • Ability to use independent judgment, analyze information, and formulate recommendations to solve problems.
  • A passion for the foundations and core beliefs in Avocado as the leader in certified organic and sustainable products.

Responsibilities

  • Service East Coast key partners by building and growing relationships within the organization.
  • Oversee team of account trainers and key account managers in the SE region.
  • Visit offices and buyers to build rapport, relationships, and business.
  • Conduct store visits and work with Market Trainers to drive sales, training, and growth of AGB in each partner.
  • Act as a coach and mentor to Market Trainers.
  • Help open new strategic accounts on the East Coast.
  • Work with the Retail Development Team on displays, POP options, and delivery/set-up.
  • Serve as a liaison between AGB and assigned accounts.
  • Manage timelines, oversee execution, and follow-up once an account is onboarded.
  • Perform day-to-day responsibilities of account management including status reports, delivery service help, solving issues, and connecting appropriate people and departments.
  • Create, submit, and follow up with tasks associated with assigned accounts.
  • Spend time in East Coast flagship Avocado stores building relationships and staying in tune with the business approach.
  • Treat retail and strategic partners with energy, enthusiasm, and transparency.
  • Be responsible for the sales, profit, expenses, marketing, and merchandising functions for the assigned partner.
  • Lead the customer account planning cycle and develop strategic short- and long-run plans to achieve predetermined sales goals.
  • Ensure customer-specific programs, guidelines, and policies are communicated and followed.
  • Regularly evaluate a partner's sales performance and develop strategies to sustain successes and improve deficiencies.
  • Keep management updated about partners’ strategic plans and goal progression.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support AGB’s larger visions.
