26-2296: Senior Java & Curam Developer
About The Position
NC DHHS is seeking a highly experienced Senior Java & IBM Curam Developer to support the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of the NC FAST Food & Nutrition Services (FNS) application. The role involves business and systems analysis, technical design, full‑stack development, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions using Java, ReactJS, and Curam technologies. The developer will work closely with the FNS program area to implement enhancements from the backlog, resolve defects, and support critical initiatives such as payment error rate reduction, evidence automation, case approvals, and proactive QC alerts. The role also requires strong Curam framework expertise to design and develop rules, batches, interfaces, and SNAP/FNS program logic.
Requirements
- 10+ years of enterprise Java development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with IBM Curam framework (rules, SPM modules, batch processing).
- Experience with ReactJS and modern front-end development.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Nice To Haves
- Strong understanding of SNAP/FNS program workflows (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Perform business and systems analysis, requirements modeling, and technical design for NC FAST modules.
- Develop, test, and maintain application components using Java, ReactJS, and IBM Curam.
- Implement enhancements and resolve defects based on FNS backlog requests.
- Support FNS payment accuracy initiatives including evidence automation, case approvals, and QC alert workflows.
- Develop Curam rulesets, batch processes, interfaces, and program logic for SNAP/FNS.
- Collaborate with Agile teams, business analysts, QA testers, and stakeholders.
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and documentation.
- Work with release management for source control, build, and deployment activities.
- Ensure compliance with NC FAST architecture standards and best practices.
