About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Java Backend/Microservices Engineer with expertise in modern Java versions and frameworks to join our team. The role involves designing and implementing robust backend systems and microservices, particularly within the telecom sector. You will work with technologies such as Spring Boot, Apache Kafka, Redis, and Kubernetes, focusing on building scalable and efficient solutions.

Requirements

Java 17+ (ideally 21 with virtual threads experience)
Spring Boot (dependency injection, auto-configuration, profiles)
Apache Kafka (producers, consumers, consumer groups, offset management, SASL/SSL)
Redis (data structures, connection pooling, pub/sub patterns)
Kubernetes (pods, services, ConfigMaps, deployments, debugging with kubectl)
REST API design (Spring MVC controllers, OpenAPI/Swagger)
Experience with WebSocket (long-lived connections, binary frames, STOMP protocol)

Nice To Haves

Cassandra (data modeling, CQL, TimeWindowCompaction)
Elasticsearch/OpenSearch (indexing, queries, mapping)
Protocol Buffers (schema definition, serialization/deserialization)
Helm charts (templating, values, chart dependencies)
AWS (MSK, Secrets Manager, EKS, IAM roles for service accounts)
Development experience in cloud-based telecom CPE management, telemetry, and service orchestration
GraalJS / polyglot JVM experience
Kafka Connect, schema registries
Performance tuning at scale (GC tuning, thread pools, connection pools)

Responsibilities

Design and implement backend services and microservices using Java 17+.
Develop solutions leveraging Spring Boot, including dependency injection, auto-configuration, and profiles.
Utilize Apache Kafka for messaging, including producers, consumers, consumer groups, and offset management.
Implement solutions using Redis for caching and data management, focusing on data structures, connection pooling, and pub/sub patterns.
Work with Kubernetes for container orchestration, managing pods, services, ConfigMaps, and deployments.
Design and develop REST APIs using Spring MVC controllers and OpenAPI/Swagger.
Potentially work with Cassandra for data modeling and querying.
Utilize Elasticsearch/OpenSearch for indexing and searching data.
Implement solutions using Protocol Buffers for schema definition and serialization.
Develop and manage Helm charts for Kubernetes deployments.
Leverage AWS services such as MSK, Secrets Manager, EKS, and IAM roles.
Implement WebSocket solutions for long-lived connections.
Develop in cloud-based telecom CPE management, telemetry, and service orchestration.
Explore and implement GraalJS/polyglot JVM solutions.
