About The Position

CW is seeking a dependable Senior Janitor to perform daily custodial duties while providing hands-on guidance and support to team members, helping maintain a clean, safe, and positive work environment. This role involves performing routine custodial duties, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety, leading by example, and providing day-to-day guidance and training to team members. The Senior Janitor will also be responsible for monitoring work areas, reporting issues, and ensuring proper use and care of custodial equipment and supplies, all while fostering a collaborative work environment.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required
Valid driver’s license
Valid RealID
Must be able to obtain and maintain government base access
Minimum of 2–3 years of custodial or janitorial experience required
Experience in commercial, institutional, or contract environments
Experience supporting, training, or mentoring others in a work setting
Hands-on experience with cleaning techniques and custodial equipment (e.g., buffers, scrubbers, vacuums) required
Knowledge of standard cleaning methods, equipment, and safety practices
Ability to demonstrate and explain cleaning techniques in a clear and supportive manner
Understanding of safe chemical handling, including the ability to read and interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and product labels

Nice To Haves

OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour General Industry Safety Certification preferred
Strong organizational and time management skills
Effective communication skills, including the ability to provide clear guidance and feedback
Strong attention to detail with a focus on maintaining quality standards
Ability to identify and address routine issues and escalate concerns appropriately
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic work environment

Responsibilities

Perform routine custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, trash removal, restroom sanitation, and disinfecting high-touch surfaces
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and organization across all assigned areas
Lead by example by demonstrating proper cleaning techniques, safe work practices, and professionalism
Provide day-to-day guidance and hands-on support to team members, reinforcing tasks and procedures
Assist with on-the-job training for new employees, including proper equipment use and safety practices
Offer encouragement and constructive feedback to support team members’ growth and confidence
Monitor work areas and proactively identify cleaning needs or areas requiring additional attention
Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages to management in a timely manner
Ensure proper use, care, and storage of custodial equipment and supplies
Communicate effectively and respectfully with team members and supervisors to support a collaborative work environment
