About the Role: We are looking for an experienced Senior IT Systems Engineer to join us. Reporting to the Head of DevOps, Security & IT, this individual will design, automate, secure, and operate our corporate technology environment across cloud infrastructure, identity and access management, endpoint platforms, enterprise SaaS, networking, and core IT services. This is a hybrid role with Monday-Wednesday being onsite at our office in South San Francisco.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of networking concepts and troubleshooting techniques to support day to day operations of a hybrid on-premises/cloud network.
  • 5+ years of experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and infrastructure as code using Terraform
  • Identity and access management experience (IAM)
  • Experience producing thorough documentation, runbooks and SOPs
  • A demonstrated track record of successfully communicating technical terms and concepts to a broad range of audiences - technical, non-technical, internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience working in a remote/distributed team environment

Responsibilities

  • Support our internal network infrastructure at our South San Francisco office, including WAN/LAN, VPN, DNS, and DHCP
  • Grow and support our on-premises compute, security, and telecommunications infrastructure (phones, conference rooms, video conferencing, audiovisual, security cameras)
  • Provide identity and authentication support for employees, external collaborators, and contractors using platforms like Okta and Google Workspace, and AWS IAM
  • Assist with lab workspace build outs
  • Support existing cloud platforms (including AWS, GCP, JIRA, Slack, Salesforce)
  • Support both MacOS and Windows platforms.
  • Support Color MDM infrastructure (Iru)
  • Maintain and improve MDM onboarding and offboarding workflows.
  • Help build and support cross-functional ticketing system
  • Research new technologies; provide suggestions for changes and improvements that reduce cost and/or increase productivity and efficiency
  • Partner with Security Engineering and Compliance teams to improve our internal information security and operational security practices including asset tracking and device monitoring
