About The Position

Paxos is rebuilding the financial infrastructure to be more efficient, inclusive, and trustworthy. The IT Team is crucial in supporting this mission by enabling seamless technology experiences for all employees. They are responsible for deploying, supporting, and securing devices and applications across a hybrid environment, both in-office and remotely. As Paxos expands, the IT function is critical to ensuring operational excellence and security.

This role is for a seasoned and strategic Senior IT Engineer who will be a technical anchor, responsible for designing, building, and maintaining critical systems. The engineer will tackle complex technical challenges, own impactful projects end-to-end, and mentor other engineers. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert who anticipates future needs and aligns technology with the long-term business strategy.

Requirements

• 5+ years of proven experience architecting, deploying, and managing the lifecycle of core IT platforms.
• Subject matter expert (SME) in one or more of the following: Okta, Jira, Google Workspace, Jamf.
• Hands-on experience developing robust automation and integrations using scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash).
• Deep practical knowledge of modern IAM principles.
• Extensive experience managing a hybrid fleet of macOS endpoints at scale.
• Ability to engineer and enforce security baselines (CIS or similar), configuration profiles, and zero-touch deployment for a globally distributed and remote workforce using JAMF Pro.
• A security-first approach demonstrated through technical application.
• Hands-on experience implementing and managing security controls and platforms.
• Ability to architect durable and scalable systems by evaluating, testing, and recommending emerging technologies.
• Ability to create technical roadmaps, document design decisions, and clearly articulate the trade-offs between different solutions in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable solutions within multiple IT systems (e.g. Jamf, Intune, Okta, Jira, Google Workspace)
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex, multi-system issues, performing thorough root cause analysis to implement fixes that prevent recurrence.
• Proactively identify performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and single points of failure, and design automated solutions to remediate them.
• Take complete ownership of the project lifecycle for key initiatives, from initial design and planning through to deployment, monitoring, and post-launch support.
• Formally mentor junior engineers to elevate the team's skillset, and act as a technical representative for the team in cross-functional discussions to ensure alignment and drive sound decisions.
• Help define and document team standards for engineering excellence, testing, and operational readiness.
