About The Position
The Senior IT Professional – Applications provides production support for business-critical applications, including proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and rapid resolution of critical incidents. The role develops and troubleshoots custom applications and interfaces using programming languages within the .NET stack, and serves as an expert liaison to the business or functional area. Under the direction of the IT Manager, the position performs information technology development management and support activities for assigned departments or divisions. It works at a high technical level across applications systems analysis and support, coordinates meetings and requirements-gathering sessions for support and enhancement requests, and ensures business requirements are understood, documented, communicated, and acted upon. The role also coordinates change management and release activities and provides mentoring and training to team members as needed. The position is based at 611 Walker in Houston, Texas. The work environment is an essentially normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature, and air conditioning, with significant time spent using computer displays, a keyboard, and a mouse.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management and Information Systems (MIS), or a closely related field.
- At least six years of technology experience supporting applications.
- Usually has advanced technical certifications demonstrating mastery of a specialized application.
- Advanced certifications and/or more than six years of applicable experience may substitute for up to two years of the education requirement.
- Excellent written and verbal presentation skills, including the ability to present complex ideas clearly and concisely.
Nice To Haves
- At least two years of experience with Microsoft SQL databases, SSRS report development, and .NET technologies.
- One or more years of experience with Visual Studio and DevOps.
- Experience with .NET technologies and programming skills in VB.NET, C#, REST API, Web Services, XML, HTML, and CSS.
- Experience with Azure cloud or AWS cloud SaaS/ERP solutions and configurations.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products.
- Experience with application support and ITSM ticketing tools such as ServiceNow.
- .NET Core framework experience.
- Microsoft Azure cloud application migration experience.
- Eligible veteran status, provided the applicant meets the stated qualifications and selection conditions.
