About The Position

We are seeking a highly capable, mission-driven Senior IT Lead to oversee and support enterprise IT operations in a secure, high-performance environment. This role requires a seasoned technical professional with deep expertise in Microsoft-based infrastructure, virtualization, and secure network administration. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, sound judgment, and the ability to operate effectively across technical and business teams while ensuring compliance with stringent security standards.

Requirements

• 10-15 years of experience in IT operations roles within complex enterprise environments.
• Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with executives, stakeholders, and technical teams.
• Demonstrated expertise with VMware and the Microsoft technology stack.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft infrastructure architecture supporting .NET applications, including version control, dependencies, and validation processes.
• Hands-on experience administering Microsoft enterprise systems, including:
• Windows Server
• Active Directory
• SQL Server
• SharePoint
• Team Foundation Server (TFS) / DevOps
• Veeam backup and Replication
• Azure, AWS, Other Cloud
• Proven experience implementing and maintaining secure system configurations, including SSL/TLS and compliance controls.
• Experience with network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN configurations, Group Policy management, and Windows security.
• Experience managing patching cycles, security updates, and hotfix deployment.
• Experience in monitoring and analyzing audit logs to ensure compliance and system integrity.
• Proven ability to manage system update pipelines and support multi-domain environments.
• Experience developing and maintaining technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, disaster recovery (DR) plans, and incident reports.
• Familiarity with Office 365 and cloud-based infrastructure support.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience collaborating with Information System Security Managers (ISSMs) and Information System Security Officers (ISSOs).
• Strong organizational, analytical, and team collaboration skills.
• Must successfully meet all security and background investigation requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Experience supporting infrastructure architecture, system design, and software testing initiatives.
• Familiarity with federal security and compliance frameworks, including:
• FedRAMP
• FISMA
• NIST
• CMMC
• CISSP principles or certification
• Knowledge of ITIL Foundation (v3 or later) practices.
• Experience working in Agile and Scrum environments.
• Advanced proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and system management.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and oversight for enterprise IT operations, ensuring system availability, performance, and security.
• Administer, maintain, and optimize Microsoft-based infrastructure and virtualized environments.
• Lead patch management processes, including the deployment of updates, hotfixes, and security remediations.
• Collaborate closely with ISSM/ISSO personnel to enforce compliance with security policies and standards.
• Monitor system network health, audit logs, and performance metrics to proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance technical documentation and operational procedures.
• Support and maintain secure network environments across multiple domains.
• Serve as a technical advisor to stakeholders, providing guidance on system improvements and best practices.
• Lead staff and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
