Senior IT Application Analyst
About The Position
As a Senior IT Application Analyst, you will modernize and support the enterprise applications used by Community Transit employees. You will play a key role in replacing the PeopleSoft ERP and HCM systems, guiding solutions from implementation and integration through transition and ongoing support. You will provide senior-level technical leadership across the enterprise application portfolio by solving complex problems, shaping technical solutions, coordinating integrations and enhancements, and ensuring applications are reliable, secure, and sustainable. The role partners with business departments, IT and project teams, and vendors to manage dependencies, resolve issues, and transition systems into operation. You will also mentor analysts, strengthen technical practices, and build long-term application support capabilities. PeopleSoft and data management experience are especially valuable as the organization transitions to modern cloud-based ERP and HCM platforms.
Requirements
- At least 9 years of experience working in Information Technology troubleshooting and diagnosing problems; a bachelor’s degree in a related field may substitute for 4 years of experience.
- At least 7 years of experience providing full system support for complex customer-facing technology.
- At least 9 years of experience administering applications, systems, or networks.
- At least 9 years of experience in an IT support role interfacing daily with end users.
- At least 9 years of experience supporting, repairing, and/or troubleshooting devices, applications, or systems in the specific area of the job.
- Ability to work outside normal business hours to support critical systems and transit applications as required.
- Valid Washington State driver’s license by hire date to operate a Community Transit company vehicle, as needed.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience are accepted.
- Demonstrated experience designing, building, implementing, and maintaining complex systems.
- Knowledge of project management life cycles, techniques, and methodologies; IT management principles and operations; digital security best practices; application, system, or network selection, design, and implementation; troubleshooting techniques; IT trends and innovations; and IT ticketing processes.

Nice To Haves
- Certification in the ITIL Framework.
- Experience supporting 7 x 24 production systems.
- Knowledge of transit business and policy.
- PeopleSoft experience and strong data management experience, particularly for transitioning to modern cloud-based ERP and HCM platforms.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, implement, maintain, and support complex infrastructures; perform complex system audits and verify that systems function as expected.
- Act as a team, project, or technical lead; provide technical instruction, training, mentorship, and review of lower-level analysts’ work.
- Break work into tasks and identify and assign appropriate resources.
- Create complex reports, presentations, and documentation; develop meeting agendas, lead discussions, and track action items through completion.
- Lead communications with internal and external customers and vendors in support of technology systems.
- Integrate new technology into the existing corporate technology ecosystem and maintain architecture, design, configuration, and related documentation.
- Provide input into policies and procedures that support organizational goals; collect feedback and implement changes to improve user experience.
- Support replacement of PeopleSoft ERP and HCM systems, guiding new solutions through implementation, integration, transition, and ongoing support.
- Work outside normal business hours when required to support critical systems and transit applications.
