About The Position

Passport & Commerce builds the trusted account and commerce foundation that lets anyone, anywhere, become part of the Airbnb community — from their first sign-up, through the profile and connections they build, to every booking, benefit, and business transaction along the way. We're a newly formed org within Guest & Host that brings together identity and commerce foundations under one roof. Our mission is to move Airbnb beyond the transaction — building a world where accounts create trust, value sticks, and the benefits our community earns travel with them, and their businesses, wherever they go. You'll work closely with Payments and Wallet engineering, Identity & Privacy, Profile & Community, and Guest & Host product, design, and data science partners as we stand up this team's roadmap and technical foundations.

Requirements

6+ years of professional iOS engineering experience, including shipping and maintaining features in a large-scale, production consumer app.
Strong proficiency in Swift and modern iOS architecture, including declarative UI (e.g., SwiftUI), unidirectional state management (MVI/MVVM/Redux-style), and dependency injection.
Experience partnering closely with backend and other platform (Android/web) engineers to shape APIs and keep cross-platform experiences consistent.
A track record of owning complex features end-to-end, from technical design through launch and iteration.
Experience mentoring other engineers and contributing to team-level technical decisions.
Comfort operating with ambiguity, including on a newly formed team establishing new iOS surfaces for the first time.
Solid understanding of mobile app performance, accessibility, and release/CI practices for a large-scale consumer app.

Build the iOS experiences that bring various account features to life for millions of guests and hosts.
Own complex features end-to-end, from technical design through launch, working closely with your backend, Android, and design counterparts.
Ship reliable, performant iOS experiences that reach parity with our Android and web surfaces.
Establish patterns other engineers build on as the iOS presence for this team grows.
Become a trusted technical voice for iOS within Passport & Commerce.
Design and build iOS features using modern, declarative UI and unidirectional state architecture.
Partner with product and design to turn new concepts into polished, accessible iOS experiences.
Collaborate with backend, Android, and web engineers to keep feature behavior and data consistent across platforms.
Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code, and actively participate in code and design reviews.
Mentor other engineers on the team and help raise the bar on iOS engineering practices as the team scales.
Troubleshoot and resolve performance and reliability issues affecting the iOS app.
