About The Position

The Investor Account Analyst, Alternative Lending, is the primary role responsible for the creation and processing of MCAP’s whole loan sales for their alternative brands (Eclipse & NPX). This role will also participate in processing regularly scheduled, and ad hoc reporting requests for both internal and external parties. The role requires collaborating with internal teams to ensure compliance with investor requirements, accurate reporting, and effective issue resolution. In addition, the role contributes to process improvement efforts and enhances operational controls, fostering a high-performance culture. The incumbent will be required to probe and fully understand any issues to be able to engage business units, management and internal technology teams as required for resolution. With a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and cross-functional coordination, this role is essential to maintaining investor confidence and driving organizational success.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the Mortgage Industry.
  • Solid understanding of mortgage systems and financial transactions.
  • Financial knowledge.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including lookup tables, vlookup, and function creation including functions such as: IF, AND, OR, MINIFS
  • Proficient with MARS.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to negotiate effectively.
  • Ability to assimilate and process information from various resources.
  • Ability to identify, assess and articulate issues and liabilities that may be complex to define and understand.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proven track record of being a self starter and taking initiative.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the full mortgage life cycle from origination to payout including default management is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Real Estate Law, covenant assessments, and land title systems in all provinces, and knowledge of Legislation (e.g. Mortgage Act) regarding risk related mortgage law is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Review and allocate funded loans based on investor criteria, profitability, and overall strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor rates on new commitments and report data integrity issues to origination management.
  • Regularly prepare and remit daily and weekly reports to internal teams including, but not limited to: pipeline reporting, commitment exceptions, orphan loans, warehouse status, loan sale & pipeline analysis, deferred payments, projected fundings, and historical performance history.
  • Complete ad hoc reporting needs as requested.
  • Prepare and execute offer schedules to various Eclipse & NPX investors, involving a preliminary offer and refresh on the day of closing, and providing posting instructions to MCAP’s finance teams. This will involve reviewing the saleable loans in the warehouse and preparing an offer schedule ensuring the loans meet the Investor’s criteria and MCAP strategy. Combining multiple data sets to complete the offer schedule is also required.
  • Coordinate with internal and external counterparties to ensure the loan sales are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Maintain, update and create Excel offer schedules based on changing investor needs and new investor requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes for efficiencies.
  • Make recommendations regarding changes to procedures/reports to increase efficiency; develop an action plan for new processes and follow-up or review changes/improvements logged.
  • Work with other business units to investigate solutions and elicit support for improvements.
  • Utilize and update excel models and functions accurately to complete tasks in a time sensitive environment.
  • Be the owner of the creation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures documents outlining the creation and processing of all standardized reporting and loan sale processing procedures.
