The Arizona State Board of Nursing's mission is to protect and promote the welfare of the public by ensuring that each person holding a nursing license or certificate is competent to practice safely. The Board fulfills its mission through the regulation of the practice of nursing and the approval of nursing education programs. This mission, derived from the Nurse Practice Act, supersedes the interests of any individual, the nursing profession, or any special interest group. This position investigates complaints regarding alleged violations of the Nurse Practice Act, focusing on complex or sensitive allegations of legal or regulatory violations. The role involves interviewing and collecting evidence, examining and analyzing records, detecting improprieties, and determining if a violation has occurred to recommend appropriate actions. The Senior Investigator composes detailed investigative reports and prepares cases for administrative review, including consent agreements. They will also present cases at Board Meetings and testify in administrative hearings as an official witness.
