About The Position

Dominion Energy is hiring a Senior Investigator to join its Corporate Intelligence and Security (CIS) Investigations team. This specific role will require the candidate to live and work in the Richmond Metropolitan Area. This candidate will report to CIS leadership based in Richmond, VA. We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility. Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity. At this time, Dominion Energy cannot transfer or sponsor a work visa or employment authorization for this position. This position does not offer relocation assistance.

Requirements

  • 10+ years’ experience in an investigative role in law enforcement, corporate security, regulatory, or other investigative organization. Note: A Master's degree will count as one year towards the experience requirement.
  • Proven record of liaison experience and maintaining relationship with local, state, and federal law enforcement partners.
  • Ability to work alone and represent the company and CIS in a positive and professional manner.
  • Extensive experience in conducting investigative interviews, to include victim and witness interviews.
  • Investigative experience in case evaluation, investigative planning, case file management, investigative reporting, case presentation under oath or similar setting.
  • Knowledge and experience dealing with specific issues associated with providing/ensuring physical security, for personnel, facilities, or both.
  • Strong record of obtaining high quality investigative results. Maintains understanding and command of security issues affecting company.
  • Understanding of legal issues related to investigations.
  • Understanding the assessment of security risks.
  • Consistent demonstration of sound, security decision making.
  • Consistent demonstration of critical thinking skills in a security environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, to provide investigative reports and briefings to company officers and government officials.
  • Ability to manage the flow of sensitive intelligence information.
  • Ability to obtain government-issued security clearance, as required.
  • Ability to meet and maintain the Corporate Security eligibility requirements to carry a firearm.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts diverse, complex, and sensitive investigations into issues of significant consequence to the company.
  • Performs complex research and analysis, using a variety of automated systems, to develop pertinent data for investigations.
  • Documents investigative reports and findings in CIS’s investigative case management tool with attention to timely reporting and proficient case management.
  • Adheres to and enforces company policies.
  • Conducts investigative interviews with internal and external subjects.
  • Provides reports and presentations of investigative results, which enable and support risk management decision making.
  • Serves as Company's agent in matters requiring criminal prosecution.
  • Provides intricate liaison with local, state, and federal law enforcement.
  • Consults to company personnel on a variety of security and risk matters.
  • Provides armed, protective support for executives and employees, as required.
  • Participates in recurring firearms proficiency training and provides armed response to emergency situations per established Dominion Energy policy.
  • Develops and maintains a variety of public and private information sources to support investigative functions.
  • As needed, conducts investigations directed by the Ethics and Compliance Program.
  • Serves as member of company Threat Management Team conducting workplace violence investigations.
  • Interacts and participates with industry contacts on investigative and complex energy company security issues.
  • Provides security leadership in response to all emergency contingencies.
  • Manages and responds to threats impacting company facilities.
  • Supports security measures for effective business continuity to include, but not limited to, supporting the following programs as needed/directed: executive protection, contract security officer program, and other special projects/assignments directed by Corporate Intelligence & Security leadership.
