About The Position

MSIG USA is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to provide independent, objective assurance and consulting activities to add value to the company. This role involves analyzing risks, operations, and financial reliability, and driving actions to improve the organization's operations. The Senior Internal Auditor will also assess the effectiveness of the company's risk management, control, technology, and governance processes to ensure they meet business and regulatory needs. The position requires undertaking a range of internal audit activities from planning to reporting, following a hybrid work schedule of 4 days in the office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of audit related experience.
  • Understanding of finance and operation internal controls and internal audit methodology as well as SOX/MARSOX compliance requirements.
  • Ability to utilize critical thinking by applying process analysis, business intelligence, and problem-solving techniques.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA, CIA, CISA or CRMA is preferred.
  • Experience in the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform risk-based audits, including analyses of risk management, operations effectiveness, financial reliability, and compliance with directives and regulations, under management supervision.
  • Ensure compliance with established internal control procedures by examining records, reports, operating practices, and documentation.
  • Identify gaps in internal controls and recommend risk mitigation measures and cost savings to strengthen controls and improve business processes.
  • Prepare audit work papers, including planning memos, risk assessment matrices, and conclusions on test work.
  • Prepare and present reports detailing business descriptions, process flows, key internal controls, issues, root causes, and remediation.
  • Ensure audit findings are discussed with management and appropriately tracked through remediation.
  • Maintain effective relationships with business units and management to enhance the audit process.
  • Effectively monitor own performance to manage work requirements and budget to meet assigned initiatives.
  • Act as an objective source of independent advice to ensure validity and risk mitigation.
  • Engage in continuous knowledge development regarding regulations, best practices, tools, techniques, performance standards, and the Institute of Internal Auditors’ International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF).
