About The Position

This is a ground-up, high-end residential new construction role focusing on full custom homes from start to finish. The design studio is an internationally published, award-winning firm known for organic modern homes that are both livable and luxurious. They take on a deliberate number of projects to ensure each receives adequate attention and partner with clients, architects, and builders who share their commitment to quality. This role offers the opportunity for a senior designer to do career-defining work with the necessary resources, project caliber, and creative partnership of the Principal Designer. The team is described as tight-knit, holding a high bar and enjoying their work and each other.

Requirements

  • Ten-plus years in interior design.
  • At least five years leading true luxury, high-end residential new construction.
  • A portfolio of ground-up custom homes taken from design development through install.
  • Technical fluency to carry a high-end build through documentation.
  • Strong AutoCAD skills.
  • Deep knowledge of luxury finishes and furnishings.
  • Trade relationships that facilitate high-end work.
  • Presence to lead a room (clients, builders, team).
  • Organization to keep projects moving.

Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day of projects, from initial concept through construction documents, sourcing, and final install.
  • Lead projects with the support of the Principal Designer and keep work moving with stakeholders on time, on budget, and on standard.
  • Develop concepts in hand with the Principal Designer and carry them through, making critical decisions to ensure exceptional homes.
  • Produce complete, build-ready sets in CAD and maintain design intent through all drawings.
  • Specify finishes, fixtures, and furnishings, leveraging knowledge of vendors and workrooms capable of high-end execution.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with architects, builders, and trades, protecting the design in the field.
  • Lead client meetings and manage client relationships day-to-day, providing an experience that matches the quality of the homes built.
  • Act as a face of the project.
