About The Position

This position is ONLY OPEN TO CURRENT FULL-TIME ANNUALLY PAID PARKS EMPLOYEES. The Senior Interagency Coordinator, under the general direction of the Director of Interagency Coordination, will manage the unit’s project database, intranet landing page/permit portal, construction permit, and geospatial information, and oversee the development of project management tools. This role involves assisting in the management of the unit’s overall workflow, monitoring and tracking project intake, and managing a portfolio of agencies and projects through their entire lifecycle (initiation, design, permitting, construction, and closeout). The position requires performing specialized research and analysis in city planning, construction management, design review, Agency engagement, and contractor/consultant management for infrastructure projects impacting parkland or NYC Parks assets across all five boroughs. The role also includes preparing and reviewing various project-related documents, assisting in the development of policies and procedures for innovation and efficiencies, meeting with stakeholders, and evaluating planning and construction management policies.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
  • High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
  • Education and/or experience which is equivalent to '1' or '2' above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in '1' above.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the unit’s project database, intranet landing page/permit portal, construction permit, and geospatial information.
  • Oversee the development of project management tools.
  • Assist in management of the unit’s overall workflow and monitor and track project intake.
  • Manage a portfolio of agencies and projects from initiation, through design, permitting, construction and closeout.
  • Perform specialized research and analysis in city planning, construction management, design review, Agency engagement and contractor/consultant management for all infrastructure projects impacting parkland or NYC Parks assets through the five boroughs.
  • Prepare and review diagrams, drawings, presentations, reports and other documents related to infrastructure projects and intra/interagency activities.
  • Assist in assembling and presenting analysis and narrative materials relating to existing, required or proposed facilities and major infrastructure throughout the five boroughs.
  • Develop and coordinate a work program for each assigned agency.
  • Assist in the development of policies and procedures to achieve innovation and efficiencies within the unit’s operations to better serve other divisions and units across the Agency.
  • Meet with consultants, applicants, community groups, elected officials and other Agency staff to explain the objectives and implications of infrastructure projects.
  • Evaluate planning, land use and construction management policies in need of investigation and develop alternative solutions and recommendations.
  • Assist with training staff within the Interagency Coordination unit.
