About The Position

Clever is looking for a Senior Integrations Engineer to join their newly formed Integration Engineering team. This role will serve as the technical architect for critical system connections. The engineer will sit at the intersection of engineering and customer success, designing and implementing integrations that link Clever to essential school systems. Responsibilities include defining technical standards for secure data transfer and evolving the Clever platform through customer feedback and expert execution. The engineer will lead the end-to-end technical delivery of high-profile integrations, building connectors for reliable and secure communication between Clever and school systems. They will act as a technical bridge between school IT leaders and Clever's internal Product and Engineering teams, gathering requirements and translating them into custom solutions. Success will be measured by seamless deployment of data pipelines, high-quality technical documentation (SOWs, integration guides), and high platform stability for supported districts. Key projects include designing and implementing custom integrations using JavaScript, TypeScript, and SQL, leading technical discovery workshops with strategic partners, and developing team documentation.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of total experience in ETL Engineering, Integration Engineering, or Software Engineering roles.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and SQL.
  • Comfortable building and maintaining custom integrations and data pipelines.
  • Proven ability to work directly with external partners or clients to gather technical requirements, present solutions, and iterate based on feedback.
  • Experience building API integrations, managing data imports/exports, and designing technical solutions for complex data flows.
  • Skilled at breaking down complex problems and finding practical, scalable solutions.
  • Energized by ambiguity and the opportunity to help shape how an emerging team operates.
  • Enjoy co-owning work with peers.
  • Comfortable defining the path as well as executing on it.

Nice To Haves

  • Deep expertise in the EdTech, K-12 sector, or Enterprise data industry.
  • Experience with ETL processes and analytics platforms commonly used in K–12 (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
