About The Position

Clever is looking for a Senior Integrations Engineer to join their newly formed Integration Engineering team. This role will serve as the technical architect for critical system connections, sitting at the intersection of engineering and customer success. The engineer will design and implement integrations linking Clever to essential school systems, define technical standards for secure data transfer, and help evolve Clever’s platform through customer feedback and expert execution. The role involves leading end-to-end technical delivery of high-profile integrations, building connectors for reliable and secure communication between Clever and school systems. The engineer will act as a technical bridge between school IT leaders and Clever’s internal Product and Engineering teams, gathering requirements and translating them into custom solutions. Success is measured by seamless deployment of data pipelines, high-quality technical documentation, and achieving high platform stability for supported districts. Key projects include designing and implementing custom integrations using JavaScript, TypeScript, and SQL, leading technical discovery workshops, and developing team documentation.

Requirements

4+ years of total experience in ETL Engineering, Integration Engineering, or Software Engineering roles.
Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and SQL.
Comfortable building and maintaining custom integrations and data pipelines.
Proven ability to work directly with external partners or clients to gather technical requirements, present solutions, and iterate based on feedback.
Experience building API integrations, managing data imports/exports, and designing technical solutions for complex data flows.
Skilled at breaking down complex problems and finding practical, scalable solutions.
Energized by ambiguity and the opportunity to help shape how an emerging team operates.

Nice To Haves

Deep expertise in the EdTech, K-12 sector, or Enterprise data industry.
Experience with ETL processes and analytics platforms commonly used in K–12 (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).

Responsibilities
