Senior Integrated Capacity Planner

Crusoe•Sunnyvale, CA
•$230,000 - $280,000

About The Position

At Crusoe, the Capacity Planning & Efficiency team operates at the critical intersection of all Crusoe products, services, and underlying physical infrastructure. This role sets the strategy that everything else plans against. You will decide what Crusoe's capacity posture should be over a multi-year horizon - where to build, what to buy versus lease versus partner for, which technology transitions to bet on and when, and how much risk to carry against demand that has not been signed yet. Those answers become the targets the rest of the planning function executes toward. This is the most senior individual contributor role in capacity planning at Crusoe. Where planners run cycles and reconcile plans, you own the questions underneath them: what the plan is optimizing for, what the company should commit to years before demand arrives, and what to do when the answer is genuinely unknown. You will be the technical authority the exec staff, the board, and Crusoe's capital partners rely on for the capacity story, and the person who raises the bar across every planner in the function. This role is uniquely positioned to shape Crusoe's infrastructure strategy at its foundation, directly supporting the mission to align the future of computing with environmental sustainability.

Requirements

  • 12+ years in infrastructure capacity planning, IBP/S&OP, supply and demand planning, or infrastructure strategy, including at least one tour owning planning strategy for a large fleet rather than executing someone else's.
  • A track record behind large infrastructure commitments - build versus lease analysis, depreciation and residual value strategy, and the discipline to be clear about what you do not know when the number is very large.
  • Technical fluency across compute, storage, network, accelerated computing, and the power and site constraints that gate deployment - plus genuine depth in at least one, enough that specialists treat you as a peer rather than a planner.
  • You have owned the number in front of a board, an investment committee, or a lender, and held up under questioning. Structured narrative, crisp documentation, and presentations that turn a complex plan into a decision made in the room.
  • Direct experience in strategic allocation and commitment conversations with silicon vendors, system integrators, or hyperscale suppliers.
  • Expert-level Excel or Google Sheets, plus the judgment to know when a model should stop being a spreadsheet and become a system. You build models others can inherit, audit, and run without you.
  • You have raised the standard of work on a team you did not manage, and can point to planners or engineers who are better at their craft because of it.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Mathematics, Data Science, or an equivalent technical field.

Nice To Haves

  • Built a capacity or integrated planning function from nothing into a cadence the company actually trusted.
  • Time on the supply side - hyperscaler, OEM/ODM, or silicon vendor - seeing allocation from the other side of the table.
  • Experience with cloud pricing, packaging, or capacity-backed commercial structures such as reserved and committed-use contracts.
  • Formal background in operations research, optimization, or simulation applied to constrained allocation at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Set the multi-year capacity posture Crusoe plans against - build versus lease versus partner, regional siting, technology transition timing, fleet refresh economics, and how much speculative capacity to carry ahead of contracted demand.
  • Own the analysis behind Crusoe's largest infrastructure commitments. Frame the options, quantify the downside, and make the recommendation the exec staff acts on - then own whether it was right.
  • Own the policy governing how scarce capacity is allocated across customers, products, and regions, and make the contested calls that cannot be resolved inside the planning cycle.
  • Define how planning is done across the function - models, taxonomy, horizons, accuracy standards, review bar - and hold the GPU, compute and storage, hardware and supply chain, and integrated planners to it.
  • Own the capacity story told to the exec staff, the board, and Crusoe's lenders and investors. Translate a physically constrained build plan into the numbers and confidence intervals those audiences need.
  • Co-own Crusoe's strategic supply posture with Supply Chain - allocation negotiations with silicon and system vendors, multi-sourcing strategy, and the commitments made years ahead of the demand that justifies them.
  • Bring capacity economics into product and pricing decisions - what Crusoe should sell, in what shape, on what commitment terms, given what it can actually build and at what cost.
  • Define the multi-year roadmap for how capacity planning matures at Crusoe, and raise the bar across the team through mentoring, review standards, and shaping how the function hires and levels.
